Glenville Beer Company, the oldest continuously-operating craft brewery in the world, announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Glenville Brewery Company.
Glenville Beverage announced the transaction with the following statement on Friday:”Glenvillas first brewery was opened in 1873 and the company’s unique blend of fresh, seasonal and seasonal seasonal beer are a part of Glenville’s heritage.
The purchase is a key milestone in our continued expansion to create a stronger local business for Glenville residents.”
The Glenville Brewing Company will continue to operate under its current name as a standalone business, while Glenville and its affiliated breweries will continue as part of the Glenville Wine and Spirit Company.
In addition to the Glenvillas acquisition, Glenville Brewmaster Dan Grommett announced the formation of a new team of four beer consultants and a new director of operations for Glenvillastown, New Jersey.
Dan Grommelter will be the team’s new director.
The announcement was made via the Glenbridge Brewing Company website.
Dan said: “We are excited to be joining a great family of craft beer professionals, brewers, and winemakers in Glenvillestown.
Glenville is home to some of the finest microbrews in the nation and our employees have been dedicated to helping to keep our businesses and communities thriving.”
Glenwood Beverages will retain a 25% ownership interest in the new Glenville brewery and will retain ownership of all of the brewery’s assets, including the facilities and brewing facilities, as well as the Glenwood brand.
Dan added: “It has been a great privilege to work with Glenvillardrewards team and have the opportunity to serve as a part-time advisor to them and Glenvillares team, and I look forward to working with them to expand Glenvillarastown.
Glendora, NJ is home of the oldest surviving brewery in America, Glenwood Brewery, which is the oldest continuous brewing brewery in New Jersey, and is also one of the longest-running in the United States.
Glenwood has been continuously operating since 1873.
Glendale Brewing Company is owned by The Glenville Distillery Group, which has a history of pioneering craft beer.
